How to Install WordPress Using Softaculous
Softaculous is one of the most popular script installer services provided by many web hosts.
To use Softaculous, log into your control panel and find the Softaculous icon. For cPanel users, you will find it under the ‘Auto Installers’ section.
Click on the icon and then select the ‘Install’ button to begin the installation process.
Next, you will need to select where you want your WordPress website installed. Unless you are creating a sub-domain, the default location should be http:// or http://www. If you have a SSL certificate installed, that would be https:// or https://www.
Leave the ‘In Directory’ field blank to install WordPress to your root directory. If you want to install a subdomain, or into a specific folder, enter the URL into this field.
Lower in the page, you will find the site settings section. Where you will provide your website’s details including your site’s title and description.
Next, set your admin username, password, and email. Always make sure you use strong passwords for your website.
You are almost done.
Click the install button and let Softaculous finish things up.
Note: Do not close the window until installation is complete.
When the installation completes, Softaculous will display a link to your website and admin area.
How to Install WordPress Using MOJO Marketplace
This is another famous 1-click script installer that helps make the work of installing WordPress website easy.
Unlike Softaculous installer, MOJO marketplace does not have an icon that shows you if it is available.
To use it, log into your control panel and click on the ‘Install WordPress’ or ‘1-Click Install’ icons.
Next, click the install button to continue.
Next, you will be required to choose where to install your site. Choose your domain name from the drop-down list and click the ‘Check domain’ button.
After MOJO Marketplace has completed checking for any issues, select the ‘Show Advanced’ checkbox to reveal more settings.
Enter your website name, email, and password and then click the ‘Install Now’ button.
You will see a progress bar indicating the progress of the installation process. This should only take a few minutes.
When the process completes, you will see a success message and a ‘View Credentials’ button next to it. Follow this to find links to your WordPress website and admin area together with login credentials.
How to install WordPress using QuickInstall
You will also find quickInstall among the list of 1-click installers that many web hosts provide. No matter the host you are using, the process will still be the same.
Log into your control panel and find the QuickInstall icon. If you are using cPanel, you will find it under the ‘Software and Services’ section. Click the icon to start the installer.
On the next page, select WordPress from the list of web applications provided. This will launch the WordPress installer.
The next page should be an app overview. Click the ‘Install WordPress’ button to continue with the installation.
Next, you will need to select the installation settings. These include the domain name and location. If you are installing to the root directory, leave the ‘install path’ field blank. Otherwise, enter the link of whether you want to install it. If for example you are creating a blog and have a folder named ‘blog’, the URL would be yoursite.com/blog
Next, provide a title for your website and, username, password, and email for the admin account. QuickInstall will also need you to enter the first and last name of the admin.
Lastly, click the ‘Install WordPress’ button and let the software do the heavy lifting for you.
When the process is done, click on ‘View Credentials’ to view your login credentials and links to your website and admin area.
How to Install WordPress using Fantastico
Even though Fantastico is not as popular as the other 1-click installers above, it is still quite common among website hosts.
The installation process is also straightforward and easy to follow like the rest.
Begin with logging into your control panel and find the Fantastico icon. For cPanel users, this should be under the ‘Software and Services’ section. Click on this to begin the installer script.
The main application screen is divided into two, with a list of web applications displayed on the left. Click on ‘blogs’ and then look for WordPress from the list of applications.
When you click on WordPress, you will be presented with an application overview. Click the ‘Click here to Install…’ button to begin.
Next, enter your installation settings. Begin with choosing the domain name you want to install the website to. Enter the sub-directory name that you want to install to. If you are installing to the root directory, leave this field blank.
Enter your admin account information under the ‘Administrator Details’ section. These include a username, password, and email. Click the ‘Submit’ button to continue.
The script will now install your WordPress website. A success message will be displayed once the installation is complete.
